Corset Fashion show and Art GalleryCollapse )

The corset show is nothing short of my own attempt at diversifying the culture in my own home town. When I looked around and saw the nine billion hiphop and live rock joints I decided to try and put something together completely different that would attract people to the one goth industrial venue in this area.

Nicole Moan (Mo-anne) caught my eye with something I had never seen before: one of a kind corsets. Ceramic corsets. This show is not a fetish show or a lingerie show. This is a fashion show that I hope will attract all of my favorite hardcore goth fashion fans along with more of the mainstream crowd who have no idea what they're missing out on.

I was considering this whole event and pondering how to make it a more well rounded event and that's when I decided to book two artists to come out and show their pieces on the side. I found Blue oblivion online and immediately fell in love with her work, especially her photography. There is an almost etherial feel to it which I really enjoy.

Tien Duong I ran into at the DarkRoom one night as he was toting around his back pack full of pieces. When I asked him what he had he immediate produced stencilled paintings that just screamed modern art.

I knew that these two would well round out what i was trying to put together: a dark gallery of artistry centered on fashion, specifically corsets.

February seventeenth at nine pm the doors open. The corset show starts at ten and the cover is eight dollars to help raise money to send Nicole to a fashion show in the UK. Tien and Blue will be displaying and selling their wares there as well.

Corsets By Nicole Moan:

The February 17th Show is STILL on. We are pushing hard to get orders in for tickets. Please email me if you have any questions or are interested in pre purchasing tickets. Most credit cards and debit cards are accepted. We are using pay pal so pay pal payments are ALSO accepted, and GREATLY appreciated.

We are going to be hitting the streets soon to distribute fliers and posters as well as directly spreading the word about the show at parties, clubs, and events. So be looking for the infam0us street crew to be in your area in the next couple of weeks.

Check out this event if you're into anything undergroundCollapse )

I'm not sure if this is kosher here. I don't see a rule against it and I know a lot of UofA people dig this kind of stuff.

If this is uncool then remove the post, and I won't repost it.
I hope some of you guys will come out and support the local underground.
Thanks for reading, and yes I lj cut the flyer.

How about that wonderful rain, huh?

I'm actually posting to ask about classes, since it is time to think about next semester already. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on taking Linear Algebra with William Feldman? I've looked at RateMyProfessors.com (http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/SelectTeacher.jsp?sid=1391) but I'm not that much of a fan of the site. So any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.
